The ignition key could inadvertently rotate from the "run" to the "accessory" position, causing the engine to shut off without warning. If the engine shuts off while driving, vehicle performance will be affected, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the "WIN" module to correct this concern. The recall is expected to begin in April, 2011. The Volkswagen recall number is 28G1/U8.

How many recalled cars can the dealer repair each day (while also doing their daily service business)?

Recalls are unrelated to your warranty coverage. Any recalls that are issued for safety-related items on your vehicle will be repaired by the vehicle manufacturer at no cost to you.
