All vehicles undergo crash testing and must meet federal standards. Fuel leakage from the fuel inlet pipe after the crash testing of this model exceeded the allowable limits. The fuel inlet pipe connects the gas cap area to the fuel tank. Any fuel leak always increases the risk of a fire. Dealers will install a newly designed protector for the fuel filler inlet pipe to correct this concern.

Toyota will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning August 9, 2010. There are no symptoms related to this recall. If you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.

Recalls are unrelated to your warranty coverage. Any recalls that are issued for safety-related items on your vehicle will be repaired by the vehicle manufacturer at no cost to you.
