Suspension & Steering
IMPROPER ACTIVATION OF THE STEERING SYSTEM PROTECTION LOGIC CAN CAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL TO BECOME OFF-CENTERED UP TO 90 DEGREES. THIS MAY OCCUR AFTER THE DRIVER HAS FULLY TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL IN ONE DIRECTION THEN QUICKLY ATTEMPTS TO TURN IT BACK TO THE CENTER POSITION. SHOULD THIS OCCUR WHILE DRIVING, THE RISK OF A CRASH IS INCREASED.
A problem with the steering control system may allow the steering wheel to become off-center after the driver has fully turned the wheel in one direction. If this happens while driving, the risk of a crash is increased.
You must contact and visit a Lexus dealership to perform recall repairs on your Lexus vehicle. The schedule for Lexus to contact known owners of affected vehicles is during July, 2010. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Lexus dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
