ERRONEOUS TIRE INFORMATION COULD LEAD TO IMPROPER TIRE FITMENT AND INFLATION WHICH COULD AFFECT THE DURABILITY OF THE TIRE AND THE STABILITY OF THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The incorrect tire pressure label may have been installed during assembly. Some vehicles were equipped with 17-inch wheels, but the label is for 16-inch wheels; inflation pressure may also be incorrect. Tire durability and vehicle stability can be affected by incorrect tires or tire pressure, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will mail customers the correct tire pressure labels, or they will install the correct label if you prefer. This recall is scheduled to begin by Match 4, 2010.
We at RepairPal have designated this a high priority recall. Tires can fail with out warning due to incorrect tire pressure. If you receive a new tire pressure label in the mail, please follow the instillation instructions. Contact your Mini dealer if you are unsure of the status of your tire pressure label. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you as to what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
