Suspension & Steering
CORROSION OF THE FRONT SUBFRAME COULD LEAD TO SEPARATION, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
Severe corrosion of the front subframe may occur in cold weather states where road salt is used. This can result in wheel alignment and steering issues, and ultimately could result in the subframe detaching from the suspension of the vehicle in severe cases. These concerns can lead to an accident.
You must contact and visit a Kia dealership to perform recall repairs on your Kia vehicle. The schedule for Kia to initially contact known owners of affected vehicles was during June, 2009. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Kia dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Kia recall designation is SC075.
