IF THE SPEAKER FAILS, THE FOLLOWING AUDIBLE NOTIFICATIONS ARE IMPACTED: TURN INDICATOR, SEAT BELT WARNING, LIGHTS 'ON' WARNING, DRIVER'S DOOR OPEN WITH KEY IN IGNITION, DRIVER INTERVENE (ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL VEHICLES ONLY) AND SEAT MEMORY. THE AUDIBLE SEAT BELT WARNING IS TO REMIND DRIVERS TO WEAR THEIR SAFETY BELT. IF THE AUDIBLE WARNING IS NOT PRESENT, DRIVERS MAY NEGLECT TO WEAR THEIR SAFETY BELT, THEREBY INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.
The speaker that provides audible warning notifications to the driver may fail. These notifications include warnings for not wearing seat belts, leaving your lights on, and leaving your door open with the key in the ignition. Forgetting to wear your safety belt can increase the risk of injury or death in the event of a crash. Dealers will verify the proper operation of the speaker and reconfigure the instrument cluster control module software. The Jaguar recall number is J011. This recall began on December 5, 2008.
We at RepairPal have designated this a medium priority recall; this would change to high if any problems are noted with the audible warnings from the dash. Please contact your Jaguar dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
