Suspension & Steering
IF A VEHICLE'S WHEEL HAS A CRACKED OR BROKEN WHEEL NUT CONDITION AND THE WHEEL BECOMES LOOSE AND FALLS OFF THE VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING, A CRASH COULD OCCUR.
For vehicles with upgraded wheels sold in southeastern states, the lug nuts may not have been installed properly and as a result may crack and break. Dealers will replace the lug nuts free of charge to resolve the concern.
Toyota notified owners of affected vehicles starting in April 2008. You can check with your dealer to see if your vehicle is involved in this program. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them.
