Suspension & Steering
IF THE TRACTION CONTROL OR ACTIVE STABILITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ARE INADVERTENTLY DISABLED, AND THE SUBSEQUENT WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATION IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ONBOARD COMPUTER IS UNNOTICED BY THE DRIVER, THE SAFETY BENEFITS OF THESE SYSTEMS WOULD BE UNAVAILABLE TO THE DRIVER WHICH COULD INCREASE THE POSSIBILITY OF A CRASH DURING AGGRESSIVE DRIVING MANEUVERS.
The traction control and active suspension management systems may be triggered to the off position inadvertently due to a concern with the switch console. This increases the risk of loss of vehicle control which can lead to an accident.
You must contact and visit a Porsche dealership to perform recall repairs on your Porsche vehicle. The schedule for Porsche to contact known owners of affected vehicles is during December, 2007. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Porsche dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Porsche recall designation is A802.
