Left Side Third Row Seat Belt Upper Anchor Bracket May Be Cracked

Recall Details

The left side third row seat belt anchor bracket may be cracked. This would put the occupant in that seating position at further risk of injury in a collision. Dealers will replace the seat belt bracket. The Nissan recall number is PB047. This recall began on November 1, 2007.

The seat belts in the vehicle are anchored along the side body pillars of the vehicle. They are secured to the body with brackets. Some left side third row seat belt upper anchor brackets may be cracked. This could cause the third row occupant to be at risk in a collision.

Summary
CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 210, 'SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY ANCHORAGES.' THE DRIVER'S SIDE THIRD ROW SEAT BELT UPPER ANCHOR BRACKET MAY BE CRACKED.
Consequence
IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, A SEAT OCCUPANT MAY NOT BE PROPERLY RESTRAINED INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SEAT BELT BRACKET FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 1, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.
