THIS COULD RESULT IN THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL COMING ON AND MAY RESULT IN SOME FUEL LEAKAGE. FUEL LEAKAGE, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
On certain sport utility vehicles a fitting for the Vapor Re-circulation, which is welded on the fuel tank, may come off due to improper materials. This may cause the MIL Malfunction Indicator Light to come on and fuel leakage. Which could pose a fire hazard. Dealers will replace fuel tank free of charge. The Campaign number is 06V054000
Nissan will contact customers of affected vehicles beginning March 20, 2006. If you have not been contacted, see fuel leakage and think your vehicle falls under this recall. You should contact your local dealership. It is helpful to have your VIN Vehicle Identification Number ready when doing so.
