IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE SEAT BELT MAY NOT PROPERLY RESTRAIN THE THIRD ROW OCCUPANT WHICH CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY.
On certain sport utility vehicles the edge of the third row seat belt retracting mechanism may damage the seat belt. Thus resulting in a weakened seat belt and increased chance of injury during an accident. The dealer will inspect the seat belt for damage, should any be found it will be replaced. In addition they are adding plastic cover to prevent future failures. The Chrysler recall # is F04
Chrysler will notify customers of affected vehicles beginning March 13, 2003. If you see any unusual wear on the seat belt, or feel you fall under this recall and have not been contacted. Call your local dealer. It helps if you have your VIN Vehicle Identification Number ready.
