A PUNCTURED TANK COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A FIRE.
Road debris, when run over by the front tires, can be projected in the direction of the fuel tank. If struck, the fuel tank could be damaged, possibly resulting in a fuel leak. A fuel leak always increases the risk of a fire. Dealers will install a protector in front of the fuel tank to correct this concern.
Nissan will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning March 20, 2006. If you are experiencing a fuel smell and/or leak, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It's helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) when you call.
