On certain sport utility vehicles equipped with a Nissan accessory tow hitch, inadequate welding of joints in hitch assembly may result in separation of hitch from vehicle during towing. Thus cause loss of item in tow and possible accident. Dealer will replace tow hitch free of charge.

05V-458 Recall Solution

Nissan notified customers of affected vehicles on October 17, 2005 advising them to not use the hitch until it was repaired. Nissan sent a second notification on November 21, 2005 advising them to bring the vehicle in for a repair. If you have not been contacted and feel this recall applies to you, you should contact your local dealer. It is helpful to have your VIN Vehicle identification Number ready when doing so.

How many recalled cars can the dealer repair each day (while also doing their daily service business)?

Recalls are unrelated to your warranty coverage. Any recalls that are issued for safety-related items on your vehicle will be repaired by the vehicle manufacturer at no cost to you.
