Body, Interior & Misc.
FRONT IMPACT SENSOR FAILURE COULD CAUSE A DELAY IN, OR LOSS OF, FRONTAL AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, WHICH CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY IN A FRONTAL CRASH.
Water may enter the frontal impact sensors because they may not have been sealed properly in manufacturing. If water enters the sensor, corrosion can occur and the sensor can short circuit internally. The SRS warning lamp will illuminate if this happens and the front airbags may not deploy in a crash, which can increase the risk of injury. Dealers will replace the front impact sensors free of charge. The recall began August 30, 2005. The Honda recall number is P80.
Please contact your Honda dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
