Engine May Stall Due to Blown Ignition Fuse

DAMAGE TO THE WIRING HARNESS CAN CAUSE A SHORT IN THE IGNITION CIRCUIT, WHICH CAN CAUSE THE IGNITION FUSE TO BLOW AND THE ENGINE TO STOP RUNNING. THIS CAN RESULT IN A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND COULD CAUSE A CRASH.

The ignition system wiring harness can rub against the underside of the intake manifold. Abrasive damage to the harness can cause a short to ground in the ignition power circuit, causing the ignition fuse to blow and the engine to stall and not restart. This can result in loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will repair any ignition wire harness damage and add additional insulation and a protector plate to prevent future damage. The Suzuki recall number is EN.

Suzuki will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning December 16, 2003. There may be no symptoms prior to the engine stalling. If don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It's helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) when you call.

Recalls are unrelated to your warranty coverage. Any recalls that are issued for safety-related items on your vehicle will be repaired by the vehicle manufacturer at no cost to you.
