Drive Train
IN THE CASE WHERE A THROTTLE FAILS TO RETURN TO IDLE, PARTICULARLY AFTER A HIGH DEGREE OF ENGINE THROTTLE APPLICATION, THE DRIVER WILL EXPERIENCE DIFFICULTY IN BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO REST, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The engine throttle can stick intermittently during its operation. The exact point of sticking is not predictable and can result in a higher than expected engine speed. If this is encountered, the driver may experience difficulty bringing the vehicle to a stop, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the throttle body to correct this concern. The Land Rover recall number is D117/B150.
If you are experiencing a sticking throttle or higher than expected engine speed, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It's helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) when you call.
