BREAKAGE OF THE CABLE STRANDS CAN RESULT IN THE THROTTLE BEING STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The accelerator cable may have been kinked during assembly and cause the cable to chafe and break internally. This would allow the throttle to be stuck in the open position and can lead to a crash.
You must visit a Land Rover dealership to perform recall repairs on your Land Rover vehicle. The schedule for Land Rover to contact known owners of affected vehicles is during March, 2002. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Land Rover dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
