I have 2016 smart for two and ac doesn’t work well. It’s hot I think it’s from thermostat problem
What makes this problem better or worse?
It’s worse when outside temperatures is hot

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. I would suggest to you that the thermostat is probably not why the air conditioning does not work well. The thermostat, if it had a concern with it, would affect engine temperature and overheating potentially. The air conditioning system can be affected by overheating but I think you would be concerned about the overheating first! The air conditioning failure may be caused by a refrigerant issue in the system dash meaning it could be low and leaking, a mechanical concern such as a compressor that will not engage, or a refrigerant cooling issue such as with a condenser fan that does not engage.
