Is it possible to increase the towing capability. The vin is 1C6RR7LT9KS729205. I think the axel ratio is 3.21. can both the front and rear be changed out to be 3.92, and what would that get me for an increase in capacity?
Hello, the maximum towing capacity for your RAM is 10,710 pounds, as equipped with the 5.7L HEMI V8 - which is indicated by the T in your VIN.
No axle ratio change will increase your capacity. If you need to tow something more than 10,710 pounds, you'll want to consider a 2500 or 3500.
When i run the vin number, it tells me the max towing is 8060. Maybe my source is wrong. This is the link: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/vindecoder.php?vin=1C6RR7LT9KS729205
the current axle ratio is 3.21, and when the truck was assembled, a 3.55 and 3.92 option were available.
Thoughts?
