Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. When your Range Rover jumps while moving and makes a sound, it could be related to several issues, including transmission problems, engine misfires, or drivetrain issues. If the transmission is slipping or struggling to shift gears, it can cause the vehicle to jump or jerk and the engine RPM to raise or lower. This could be due to low transmission fluid, worn-out components, or an electrical concern. Engine misfires can also cause the engine to run rough, which may be felt in the passenger compartment. This could be due to faulty spark plugs, ignition coils, or fuel injectors. Additionally, worn-out or damaged components in the drivetrain, such as the driveshaft, differential, or CV joints, can cause similar symptoms. To pinpoint the exact cause, I recommend having a professional diagnose the issue. A diagnostic scan can reveal any trouble codes that might help identify the problem more accurately, and a test drive may lead an experienced technician in the right direction.
