Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Resetting the immobilizer on your 2008 Land Rover Range Rover can be a bit tricky. When you replace the battery in the vehicle or the key fob, the system sometimes needs a reset to recognize the new battery and allow the car to start. Unfortunately, you typically can’t just find an “EMU code” at a store like AutoZone. To reset the immobilizer, you’ll generally need to use a diagnostic scan tool that can communicate with your vehicle’s system, or you might need to go to a dealership or a specialized automotive locksmith who has the right equipment. Some methods can include putting the key in the ignition and turning it to the "on" position without starting it, leaving it for about 10 minutes, and then trying to start again, but this can vary. If you continue having trouble, I recommend reaching out to a Land Rover dealer or a trusted automotive technician who can help you reset the immobilizer properly.
