massive battery drain issues. Found a temp fix which is leaving the key in the ignition at all times. Car has never had a dead battery , even after not driving it for a week. If i take the key out the whole car locks up including the key. I cant even turn the key to start it. I have to disconnect battery and reconnect it to reset the system , then i can once again , turn the key to start it up. THE PROBLEM: my wife shut off the car and pulled the key out of the ignition (not a big deal since i know how to fix it) , however the next morning the car wouldnt do anything. All you hear is a click sound when u turn the key, which is strange because if the car is dead the key does not turn nor will any lights work or anything else electrical. Keep in mind this battery is about 1 month old, so brand new. So now the car acts like it is dead so we put a battery charger on it for hours , checked it and still nothing. Except now i can pull the key in and out of the ignition and it still turns.

Hello, a "brand new battery" does not mean it's a "good" or "charged" battery. Always check the battery first for state of charge and the ability to sustain a load. Once that is verified to be good, and problems continue, you'll want to check your electrical system for any concerns. Hands on inspection is the only thing that will help, as from here it's a total guess and a wild guess at that. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
