is it necessary to remove the windshield while R&I'ing the headliner on this vehicle and, if it is, can the windshield be R&I'd or must it be replaced?

Hello, There is no reason the windshield should be removed on any SUV since it can slide out of the rear hatch. The majority of the vehicles that require the windshield to be removed are those with no access to the headliner otherwise, but if you will notice, the headliner is not as wide as the base of the hatch opening, at least it wasn't on my old 2010 model. Since RR doesn't really change their shape too often (never), I imagine it is still the same. I would not consider removing the windshield unless absolutely every other effort was exhausted. Even in my Jetta, the front seat comes out, and then the headliner can go right out the front door. The manual says to remove the windshield... but I didn't. Get a second opinion before you let someone overcharge you on parts and labor. http://repairpal.com/land+rover-within-10-miles-of-madison-mississippi-39110
