Problem overview

Some Toyota Tundra 2007 owners report experiencing issues with the ignition, such as having the key stuck and unresponsive when turned. This problem may be attributed to a faulty ignition switch, a worn-out key, or a misaligned transmission. Some owners have found that disconnecting the battery can sometimes release the key if it is stuck while in park. Additionally, pushing the shift lock button to move the transmission gear shift between drive and park, or turning the steering wheel while trying to remove the key, may help in resolving the issue. If the key is worn, using a spare key or getting a new one cut could also be beneficial. In some cases, debris in the keyhole may obstruct the key; using a toothpick and compressed air to clear the area has been reported as a helpful solution.
