Plymouth Grand Voyager instrument cluster indicator lights failure due to cold solder joints on Plymouth Grand Voyager

Problem overview

Some Plymouth Grand Voyager owners report experiencing issues with instrument cluster indicator lights due to cold solder joints on the circuit board. These problems can manifest as intermittent failures of instruments, such as the oil temperature gauge and gas gauge erroneously moving to half when the ignition is turned on, while the speedometer may not function at all. To remedy this, owners are advised to remove the trim under the dash and around the steering wheel to access the instrument cluster. Once accessible, it is recommended to carefully resolder the circuit board's joints, particularly focusing on the two rows of joints near the electrical connector, as the bottom right ground pin is often a common point for cracked solder connections. Re-melting the solder on this pin may resolve the indicator lights failure.
