Jeep Compass horn activates every 20 minutes after BCM replacement and flashing lights issue on Jeep Compass

Problem overview

Some Jeep Compass owners report experiencing issues with horn activation every 20 minutes and flashing lights after replacing the Body Control Module (BCM). These problems may stem from a malfunctioning Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM), which is responsible for powering various electronic components, including the horn. A faulty TIPM can lead to random horn honking and erratic behavior such as windows rolling up and down or doors locking and unlocking themselves. Additionally, some owners encounter error code U1517-62, indicating a signal mismatch between the BCM and the RFHM, which can affect the ignition system. To address these issues, owners are advised to check the TIPM for malfunctions, ensure proper installation of the BCM, and consult with a qualified technician or FCA if problems persist.
