It started with the windows sometimes working and sometimes not. I had taken it in to Chevy more than once, they would say it was fixed and it worked for a few weeks, then quit. Now my drivers window doesn't work at all the and the passenger side only works from the driver's side. Not fixed.
Noticed today that the window controls for my passenger side do not work all of a sudden. I am also having problems with the power door locks on the passenger side.
My wife put the driver's side window down this morning and it failed to go up. It was a cold winter day today, so I needed to get it done - and it's Saturday;no shops open. I'm thankful that I found this website. I bought a new switch from Autozone for $49 - saved lots of money in repairs! Passenger side goes down, but not up, but it will go up using new switch. I'll need to replace passenger side switch next week when the part is in. Windows still go up and down slow, however.
The power windows won't go up or down even with all parts having been replaced. They just.. stop working one day.
Since Ive owned the van, the drivers side power window has gone down easily but binds while going up about 3/4 of the way due to window glass going out of level position (poorly engineered window mechanism) So, i grab and pull glass to get it to go all the way up. Now drivers side window will go down easily but not up at all. I will try replacing window switch.
Also power lock button sometimes works and sometimes does not.
The problem is not fixed. The fixes for this POS are way too expensive. Passenger power window failed in 2010, a few months after I purchased it, used. The driver's window has also quit working.
window switches work part time i have replaced the driver side and still same problem. i believe it to be a wiring harnes problem. also no temp guage
Driver side power window switch failed with the window down while I was delivering a load of flowers in 90 degree weather. Fortunately, a Chevrolet dealer was open at the next traffic light on a Saturday afternoon and the switch was replaced.
Couldn't control the passanger window with the switch on the driver side.replaced switch works fine now.
The power windows go down easily, but not up. The window gets stuck 3/4 of the way up, and then needs to pulled up the rest of the way. This caused the switch to eventually fail. I haven't opened the door assembly up to check the power window gears yet.
Window control won't work, passengers control doesn't go down right away, comes up fine, drivers side goes down fine, won't come up at all unless I take the switch off & Jimmy it around a bit, & then sometimes.
Driver window gears are stripped half way . Window goes down half way gets stuck and half way up gets stuck and you can push down or pull up and it works
