I just found out that someone has written about a way to fix the self leveling headlight center adjusting post breaking problem ( Name on the net: Brutal) by inserting a screw in the plastic chrome adjuster under the radiator cover. See
headlamp bulb was pointed down, adjusting clip broken. removed ring that holds bulb in the light, stuffed a piece of shop rag inside aimed bulb and screwed ring back on. The rag is holding the reflector and bulb from pointing down. been fine for two years now.
Headlamps pointing very near in front of car. Jag dealer has stated over the telephone that this is a piece that is broken. I stated it would be coincidental that both have broken simultaneously but he says it is broken and the adjusting screws will not help.
