OBD-II Code Transmission may not shift properly is defined as a Pressure Control Solenoid "E" Control Circuit Range/Performance

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) uses Clutch Pressure Control Solenoids to control the hydraulic pressure in the transmission in order to apply the various clutch packs in the transmission to activate the different gears needed to efficiently propel the vehicle down the roadways. When the TCM detects the solenoids are not electrically capable of performing, code P2728 will set.
