    OBD-II Code Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failure is defined as a Exhaust Pressure Regulator Vent Solenoid Control Circuit High

    The Exhaust Pressure Regulator Vent Solenoid allows excessive pressure in the exhaust system to vent to the atmosphere. If the engine computer detects a failure of the Exhaust Pressure Regulator Vent Solenoid, code P2171 will be stored.

    Common Problems That Trigger the P2171 Code

    • Exhaust pressure vent solenoid failure
    • Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failure
