What causes OBD-II fault code P0C40?

The Motor Generator (MG) control module is part of the Inverter/Converter Assembly. Built into this control module is a temperature sensor so that the MG control module can regulate the operating temperature of the Inverter/Converter Assembly from overheating. If this sensor fails, code P0C40 will set.
