P0536 Severity
Once the vehicle's onboard system no longer detects the issue, most codes will disappear on their own. If your vehicle still has this code, however, it should be properly diagnosed to avoid a more serious problem.

The A/C Evaporator Temperature Sensor is used verify proper operation of the A/C system and to prevent the evaporator from getting too cold and freezing up. The engine computer (PCM) looks to see a temperature change when the A/C Compressor is activated. When the engine control module (PCM) does not see a change in temperature with the A/C compressor turned on, the PCM will set code P0536. On hybrid vehicles, this sensor may be controlled and used by the Hybrid Powertrain Control Module.
