Honda Odyssey noisy sliding doors due to body flex causing rubber wear on Honda Odyssey

Problem overview

Some Honda Odyssey owners report experiencing noisy sliding doors attributed to body flex causing rubber wear. These issues may stem from a worn-out roller located at the middle rear of the door, which runs along a track covered by a seal on the body frame. Additionally, water ingress into connector C701 behind the left rear side trim panel has been linked to various sliding door problems. Owners often encounter difficulties with the sliding doors due to faulty motors, electrical system issues, jammed tracks, or debris build-up. Some report that the doors slide back and forth during acceleration or on bumpy roads, resulting in squeaking noises from rubbing against the body frame seal. Symptoms of these issues can include whining or groaning sounds when opening or closing the door, failure to unlatch, and loud popping noises during operation. While troubleshooting these problems can be done without a mechanic, it may require different approaches based on the vehicle's model year. In cases where the door fails to open, the issue may be related to the unlatching or release actuator within the latch assembly.
