Misfire and check engine light due to clogged EGR valve on Nissan Xterra

Light came on went to autozone, they ran a diagnostic and egr code came up. Going to try to clean it. This is for inspection. I'very been told by friends to take it back up to Auto zone and have them reset my code to pass inspection .
