On February 5, 2016, Lexus recalled 320,409 Lexus GX470. Toyota motor engineering & manufacturing (toyota) is recalling certain model year 2003-2006 toyota land cruiser and lexus lx470, 2005-2006 toyota tundra and sequoia, 2004-2006 toyota 4runner and lexus gx470 vehicles equipped with side curtain-shield-air bags. the affected vehicles have an air bag control module that may be improperly programmed, causing the side curtain-shield-air bags to deploy inadvertently.

The side curtain air bags that protect occupants in a crash may deploy unexpectedly when not needed. This can increase risk of occupant injury.

Recalls on your Lexus or Toyota must be performed by the respective Lexus or Toyota dealership. Toyota will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning in April, 2016. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Lexus or Toyota dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.

Due to interference from the Lexus Link System storage case, the middle row seat behind the driver may not properly latch on the left side.
