Mercedes-Benz SLK320 Problem
Average Mileage: 92,725 mi (35,000 mi - 150,000 mi)
The outer panel on both doors is delaminating from the inner panel that attaches to the metal part of the inner door. Noticed it when my elbow leaned against the hand hold that is used to to open or close the door. There was movement and a sort of crackling noise. Dealer said it costs about $450 per door for a new panel. The repair cost is about $250 per door to re-glue the panel, but it is not guaranteed.

Same problem, independent shop advised common issue & no real repair possible due to cheap "pleather" used on interior doors, center console, glove box.

This is a particularly bad when your tan peels off and is black underneath! Am embarrassed to give anyone a ride in my outwardly beautiful car, and the "re-touch" paint just looks cheezy... really my only complaint about this car, bought new in '01 and has been peeling for past 6 yrs.
same problem, not fixed

no solution except to replace i suppose. the "leather' coating scratches easily and has peeled of in several areas on center console and glove box. we just bought this vehicle used and it was like this already.
