IT IS COMMON FOR THOSE DOOR HANDLE OF DRIVER'S SIDE AS WE HAVE TO MOVE TO RIGHT SIDE TO OPEN DOOR FROM INSIDE.
NOT SURE IF IT IS HARD TO REPLACE AS I HATE TO REMOVE DOOR PANEL!!!
Door handle does not work from the inside or outside of the driver's side door. Noticed the inside handle would have to be pushed back after lifting it to open; 3 days later the door will not open at all.
I got into a car accident and the tow truck driver tried opening my driver side door repeatedly while it was locked like an idiot! That caused the handle to break from the inside. I'm not sure what broke on it but it won't open from the inside. And after a while driver side window wouldn't roll up which I know now that the motor needs to be replaced. I love my car just hate that it's almost impossible to get in and out of my car without climbing over the seat and when I was pregnant that was the biggest pain!
Inside (and outside) door handles on this series break so often, they are rack parts at Advance and other parts stores. Replacement requires removing interior trim panel. Door lock knob needs lifted to snap out. Window winder retainer spring removal is tricky. Drill out pop rivet. Remove screw. Connecting rod may be dropped down. Re-engage in new handle. Reinstall screw. Test. Use pop rivet or replacement screw and self retaining nut to finish install. Test before close up.
Inside driver's door latch not working. Something has broken inside the door and I am unable to open this door from the inside. I will have panel removed and replace broken part.
