Ignition key will not turn to off position, I have to unhook the battery cables to make sure my battery will not die and reattach them every time I start the car
Key stuck in ignition. Was able to remove key while electronics were still on but not able to fully turn off.
my ignition wont lock and has drain my battery I have had a new shifter put in about three months ago and now having the same problem with the key.
The key won't go to the off position on ignition. Stays just to the right. Can still remove my key, but, nothing shuts off. I have to hook a battery charger to my car to keep the battery charged. I didn't have this problem until the transmission was replaced
key turns and car starts but shifter is stuck in park. havent taken it in to shop yet. no money but wd 40 seems to be working for now. what could be the problem?
Key stick in ignition, before this happened I noticed the shifter felt a little stiff when putting up into park. Haven't fixed it yet, looking for a solution.
When I put my car in park the key won't turn off I can hear a faint clicking sound in the shifter but it's like the transmission is not clicking into park mode. This not letting the shifter release into park so I can take my key out it only does it even now an then an I also have a problem with the shift knob not wanting to release to put it in drive
Key is stuck in ignition cylinder. When shifted into park, doors will unlock but the shifter button will not retract and hit my fingers.. not only that but the DIC warning displays engine hot ac off the chk eng light is on and my temp instrument is at cold at all times. Personally i think is that this batch of canadian made chevys are the problem.. the easiest way to find out is whether it is a american made or canadian made is simple as finding a 1 or 2 at the beginning of the VIN number, 1 is USA 2 is canada.. first time buying a "non american"- american made car and its a nightmare,, thinking of breaking my loyalty to chevys and buying a damn nissan
I had the same issue where the key was stuck and I could not get the car out of park. They were able to repair the wires in the shifter for about $275. Had they not been able to repair them, it would have cost me $1,000 for a brand new set of wires. I am now having an issue where I can't push in the shifter knob to get it out of park. Back to the shop I go.
Rod inside gear shift broke. I removed it and tht seemed to fix the problem for a few months. Now it happened again. Can't remove key. Car is in park but it doesn't recognize it.
