On December 23, 2015, Hyundai recalled 155,000 Hyundai Elantra. Hyundai motor america (hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 elantra vehicles manufactured october 29, 2010, to october 25, 2011. due to an electronic stability control (esc) sensor malfunction, the brakes for one or more wheels may be applied unexpectedly and the engine power may be reduced. these symptoms will be accompanied by illumination of the esc indicator lamp in the instrument cluster.

The brakes may apply unexpectedly while driving, which can result in a loss of vehicle control. 

Recalls on your Hyundai must be performed by a Hyundai dealership. Hyundai will begin notifying owners of affected vehicles starting in February 2016. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Hyundai dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. On Touring models, the headliner is equipped with a bracket to support it. This bracket may become dislodged in the event of an accident which deploys the side curtain air bags. This would cause risk of occupant injury.

2011-2013 Elantra models are being recalled because side airbag deployment could displace a headliner support bracket, increasing the chances of injury to the occupants.

The remedy for this recall is expected to be available in May 2013. There are no symptoms related to this recall.
