Chevrolet Trailblazer SS Problems

Erratic Fuel Gauge Operation on Chevrolet Trailblazer SS

Problem Description and Possible Solution

The fuel level sensor in the fuel tank may fail causing erratic fuel gauge operation. Our technicians tell us that on high mileage vehicles you may wish to replace the complete fuel pump module assembly if this condition occurs.

On certain 2005 - 2007 vehicles, General Motors has provided a special service policy covering the fuel level sensor, agreeing to pay 50% of the repair cost. This coverage extends for 10 years or 120,000 miles from the original "in service" date of the vehicle. Please contact your local GM dealer for more information.

Fuel sensor gauge works erratically. Have to keep track of mileage to make sure I have fuel. Have not had it fixed yet. Looking for a place to take it.
this am i filled up the gas full. The next morning the gauge showed empty and on reserve so i got out to make sure i did not have a fuel leak. now it goes back up to full and back down to empty. It move back and forth too much.
Ran out of gas without any indication i was running low i was below 1/4 tank but usually the light come on and it chimes. however i have a salvage title and GM will not cover this special policy repair due to that fact. had it inspected and it is the sender. cant believe gm wont honor the repair because they sent me a letter stating they would pay 50%.
