Erratic Fuel Gauge Operation on Chevrolet Suburban 1500

Problem Description and Possible Solution

It is common for the fuel level sensor in the fuel tank read the fuel level incorrectly. The sensor must be replaced to correct the condition. Our technicians recommend having the complete fuel pump module replaced on high mileage vehicles.

Fuel gage not reading correctly, then stopped working completely and low fuel light on.
May work on occasion for 30 sec then goes off again. use my trip counter to know amount of fuel in tank
Gas gauge is wobbly. It just fluctuates back and forth. While off, it reads far past the F. It is practically full, but the gauge won't stay still.
fuel guage not reading correctly; does not even stay within the scale of the dashboard guage, but spins around through 360 degrees! Amusing to watch, but a pain in the a-- to drive with.
I had an engine light on. Tech replaced the O2 sensor. That problem went away but when I picked up the truck the fuelight was on. He said it was probably the fuel sensor. Could it be a programming problem. He used the programmer to clear the engine all arm and to tell him which O2 sensor was bad
Just put gas and and the gas gauge was going from full to empty after hitting a bump on the road.
Taking it to the shop...
Fuel gauge needle still works however its it is inverted reading the bottome hemisphere moving rt to left as the fuel is depleted, in otherwords its upsidown
Just received a brand new gauge cluster from GM. After 100 miles of driving with the new cluster, the fuel gauge reads full and then pivots to empty while driving. With the vehicle off, but the ignition ON, the vehicle reads correctly at 3/4 tank.
We are traveling and stopped to put gas in turned our truck back on and the hand for gas is on E and light for low fuel on. . Haven't fixed the problem yet.
I will go from range 60 miles, to 25, to low level, then out of gas in approximately 10 minutes if my truck had been parked on an incline
