When I hit a bump or even a slight crack in the road the front passenger side makes a sort of a thud clunking rattling noise. Check motor/tranny mounts all good shape strut boot is off but seems to be in decent shape... Again only front passenger side making the noise. I tried tightening Loose bolts on the factory strut brace... nothing. I just want to know the problem and fix it!
I've had my shocks and struts replaced and my car still makes rattling noises when I drive over the slightest bump. The dealership first acted like they couldn't find a problem. This problem happens at various parts of the day. I constantly have to get my brake pads and rotors replaced. This car is dangerous to drive. I started having problems at 30,000 miles. The car has 101,000 miles and its getting worse with the rattling noises as if my car is going to fall apart.
When I hit a bump or even a rough spot in the road the front passenger wheel just keeps making a noise, sort of a clunking noise and I think its getting worse. I took it to the shop and they said it wasn't out of alignment which I thought it might be. But no fix and I think its getting worse, worries me when I travel over a 100 miles, I am always looking for the front tire to fall off.
When I brake, or accelerate from a stop, there is a crackling noise from the front brake area. I also hear it over bumps.
I was just told that I needed the tie rods and struts replaced on front. Total cost $1100. Should this be happening? I take excellent care of the car and it has not ever been driven a lot on bumpy roads. A speed breaker is a bumpy as it gets.
I noticed a popping/knocking sound from the driver's front end whenever I drover over bumps, dips, or made turns, usually at low speeds. Repair shop said it was the strut bearing plate and I would have to replace struts on both sides. Approx $450.
Right strut complete failure. Started with noticable grease on wheel and latter by knocking sound. When I replaced the struts, the right failed strut had zero internal pressure and a freely moving piston. Suggest replacing struts on all 2007 + Nissan Altimas with KYBs ASAP.
Shocks and struts completely bad. When driving especially in DC bumps are hard and loud with a rattling sound as well
Just bought this car for cash last night. Now I notice a knocking sound driving over bumps and taking turns.
Every time I drive my car makes a rattling noise either in the front driver wheel or somewhere below the ignition. Makes a very loud noise but stops when I turn the wheel even slightly a little.
Mine Altima makes the same noise on the passenger right side they told me it was the struts first then I had to take it back cause it's still making the same noise and now they are telling me it's the engine(Nissan dealership)
