Jeep Compass Problems

Engine Will not Start Due to Wireless Control Module Fault on Jeep Compass

Problem Description and Possible Solution

A no crank or no start condition may develop due to electronic lockup of the wireless control module (WCM), also referred to as the Sentry Key Remote Entry Module (SKREEM). When this module fails the remote keyless entry system will also not operate. The WCM is commonly replaced to correct this concern.

On and Off again my 2014 Jeep Compass won't start. All the lights come on, radio works, everything is perfect except it won't crank. It goes all the way to the third and thats it. The ETC light and check engine light come on only when it doesn't turn on. At times it will last just 5 mins, other times more than 24 hours. Just leaving me stranded. I've taken my car to two dealerships and they can not find anything wrong. What is the solution to this if nothing is showing up. I love my car so much, but its just causing me so much stress that no one can find a problem. There clearly is a problem.
all dash lights come on, radio works, headlights on, but motor will not crank, tried removing IOD fuse to reset WCM (this worked once before) not this time. Tried to disconnect battery to reset and that did not work
Car would not turn over, all dash lights on. Replaced starter & battery. Not the problem. Took back to dealership and we were notified it was the WCM.
Everything works when I turn the crank lights and all but nothing will start the engine what do I do
Bought new. Engine won't turn, but lights work. First issue encountered was when the transmission stopped working, while on the road, less than a year ago (11months). Now, this bull****. Worst purchase ever! Second jeep I've owned within 5 years. First jeep (liberty renegade) stopped functioning after an oil change from the dealership. No more Jeep purchases for me. Unreliable pieces of crap I've purchased.
Car would not start. had it towed to Jeep dealer... Fortunately, I got extended lifetime warranty... Cost $100.. now only 96 more years of warranty left
Jeep Compass 2007- Engine wont turn over. Etc light and check engine light on. No codes found. Have replaced everything on this Jeep. Worst purchase ive ever made.
same deal as the rest running fine one minute then put key in all dash lights come on no sound from the starter, hearing that it is the wireless control module, getting kinda pissed I hear you can't even fix it yourself because it must be programed to the key at an extra charge there should be a replacement part that bypasses the security key we don't live anywhere near a high theft area I could care less about the security system by you make me pay out the rear section to replace the crappy system you put in
Turn key in ignition and car doesn't start. Nothing happens when I turn the key - car doesn't start, lights/radio/dash go on. Brought it to Jeep service at the dealership and they supposedly fixed it by uploading something. But soon after picking the car up it happened again. They didn't fix the problem. They said that it is difficult to fix this type of problem because they need it to happen in order to know exactly how to fix it. Happens randomly - every few days or so - but sometimes multiple times a day. Sometimes the auto starter doesn't work. And yesterday, 3/10/17, none of the buttons on the keyless entry remote were working. That hasn't happened since. Car has 27095 miles.
Car was running fine till i got to the office, i turn my car off and get out, shut my door, and notice that my lights and radio went back on even tho my keys were in my hand. I open the car door and they all shut off. So I went inside for roughly 20 min and came out to find that everything was still on. Problem kept happening all day till my battery died. Went to jump the battery and come to find out its not the battery but my WCM
Dash lights lite up, little acceleration in the gas. I could stil drive it at idle speed. towed it to the jeep dealership they said it was the control module. It did reset itself after they looked at it, luckly cause I didn't have the 1400.00 they wanted to replace it... Pretty sure this should be a recall, but jeep is dragging there feet because the same thing is happening the Laredo series and that has a recall...
It was a cold winter day, the car was just plain dead. I had it towed to Clay Cooley Chrysler Jeep, they could not find a thing wrong with it. I told them what the problem was, as I had read about it online before. They had the car for a week and could not duplicate the problem. It started right up at the dealer. While they had the car I had them do the 60,000 mile maintenance service on it.
I have the new model 2017 Jeep Compass and only had it a month and a half and maybe 1500 miles on it. I drove it normally and shut it off and went a store for about 15 min. When I came back out to start the car, only the radio turned on and then I couldn't shut it off. Jeep replaced my entire computer and I haven't had that problem since. Now my only issue is with the UConnect restarting a couple times a week.
