turn key truck doesn't want to start continue to turn truck on and of but will not crank then randomly will decide to start? I have already replaced the neutral safety switch but that apparently is not the problem. need help please.
I can turn my ignition switch to the on position and no lights come on, and then I let the truck sit for a couple of minutes and the lights pop on and then I can start the truck.
In the middle of nowhere all the lights on the dash go on and the car just turns off,as if I've turned the key to the left, and shut it off,I let up on the accelerator, and it usually, the panel goes back to normal, and the truck is back.
98' s10 2.2. Very intermittent problem for a couple of years now. Checked everything. Grounds, replaced the major grounds, battery, checked for shorts, blown fuses etc. It makes perfect scense that my truck loses all power and throws a light. What turns your vehicle on and off? The switch. Narrowed it down to this. Even the techs at the dealer said my ignition had a lot of slop in it. I will be replacing my switch here next weekend.

Problems with engine light on! Wipers don't work an radio stopped at same time! Belt on mother making clicking noise! Head lights dem brights don't work! Need help!
Truck did not start. Tried to start it a few hours later. Still did not start. When I tried again two days later the truck started right up.
The truck has a relatively new battery. Alternator checks out ok. Intermittent problems with dash lights and gauges coming on. The truck is in a repair shop. They do not know what is wrong.
Same thing happened once before. Changed ignition switch. Gauge might work one day and not the next day. This time brake light is on and dim and speedometer is not working. It is the accessory power coming out of the ignition switch. First time was about 100000 miles. Ignition switch fixed it, the dealer fixed me. $300 + don't remember exactly. The switch is a lot cheaper now. Maybe I should buy an extra for the next time.
