SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME. BIGGEST PROBLEM IS GETTING THE DOOR PANEL OFF FROM THE INSIDE WITHOUT DESTROYING THE DOOR PANEL. IT HAS TO BE OFF TO ACCESS THE LOCKING MECHINISM. ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO GET THE DOOR PANEL OFF WITHOUT DESTROYING IT??
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR STUCK FROM INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. DOOR WILL NOT
OPEN THIS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES IN THE WINTER A COUPLE MONTHS AFTER
PURCHASING THE VEHICLE SO I THOUGHT THIS PROBLEM WAS HAPPENING
BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER BUT AFTER A COUPLE DAYS THE DOOR WOULD OPEN
NOW THE DOOR IS COMPLETELY STUCK ITS A PAIN HAVING TO CLIMB OVER THE
PASSENGER SEAT. PASSENGER HAS TO GET OUT EVERY TIME. DOESNT SEEM RIGHT RIGHT.

The doors will not unlock with the remote control. I need to use the key and open the door manually. The problem has not been fixed.
Rear passenger door will not open from inside or outside. Locking mechanism still works.
From approx. 60,000 mi.s drivers door will occasionally stick in the lock position regardless of lock solenoid actuation. Cycling door lock solenoid several to "many" times has usually loosened it up, however, now at 128,000 mi.s it has been stuck for 3 days. Getting tired of climbing over passenger side to get in. Wish GM would have put an access hole in the door for the straw tip of a lube spray!!! Anyone know of a fix?
12/10 - Fix turned out to NOT be a lubrication problem (although it still would be nice to have access holes for lube points). When the door unlocks, there is a metal gear in the door lock mechanism that engages a plastic gear that moves to engage the door handles (in & out) so when you pull on either handle the door opens. Well, in GM's infinate wisdom, it seems this plastic gear only has 77,000 cycles built into it. When it wears out, your done. So 1.) only cycle your locks when you need to and 2.) if this starts to happen to your door, replace the lock mechanism while the problem is still intermitant and you can still get the door to open (less costly on labor to not have to break into the car because the door will NOT open with this malfunction). Also, easy way to get in from the right side is to face the back seat with your knees on the front passenger seat, lean on your right arm way into th back seat on the center arm rest, swing your feet over from the right foot well to the left, rotate forward as you lower yourself into the drivers seat. Escape is the reverse or out the window. Service the electric window also if you need to pop the door panel off to replace the door lock mechanism. Good luck!
drivers door will not lock with remote and will not lock when i put in gear
Interesting. Right after the warranty ran out, problems arose with passenger side rear door, then passenger door, then driver side rear door. I wonder if this is a do-it-yourself fix as I was given a quote of over $250.00 per door for repair.
the rear door power lock stopped working and then the other rear door stopped working now all power locks do not work and the dealer says 250.00 dollors a door to fix! I have to win the lotto to fix my BUICK! Anybody got a better FIX!
I listed my problem previously - and am really surprised to see how many problems there are with this issue. I get at least one additional comment per week regarding this problem. I was instructed to add my problem to the NTSB website which I did. I would recommend to all of you to do the same - it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt or worse. When they cannot exit a vehicle because the door is jammed. Please add your comments to the NTSB site so GM can address this problem properly.
The drivers door lock actuator went bad @ 49200 miles. The dealer replaced under warranty. Now at 53300 the rest of the door lock actuators quit.
Driver door lock mechanism stays locked. With car in drive, manually unlock door. Door has been fine so far, about 10 days. Don't try to open door before car is in full Park or it will happen again. Still need to replace door lock mechanism.
The automatic lock from the fob or switch on the drivers
Side door intermittently will not lock or unlock.
I haven't gotten it fixed yet the key lock mechanism still works.
Went into dealer under warranty, fixed (temporarily) now out of warranty and same problem,
@006 Buick Lucerne, left rear door latch assembly went in 2009 and now right door latch assembly gone. Dealer wants $570 for repair.
Offered me 10% discount, what a joke
GM has a major problem here and should live up to it with some customer satisfaction.
door lock sticks can't open door getting worse or door will not close till lock is pulled 2 or 3 times

Same door problems as all other complaints have described. Seems to me this would be a serious safety hazard as you cannot get out of your car if there was another serious problem. IE: crash resulting in a fire or an issue with the fuel tank that has already been recalled.
Mine started when I started leaving it outside. I was going to go to work and unlocked the doors by remote and went to get in the driver's side and pulled on the handle and nothing and got in the other side and tried and nothing also. So, I took the day off to take it in and ran an errand first and when I got there, I just thought I would try it to see if it worked from the inside and it opened, so we couldn't figure out why except maybe it had moisture on it and thawed out. But a few weeks later it did it again and it was 5 days of climbing over the seat to get in and out. We parked it in a heated garage and after sometime it did open and we put some graphite to see if it would stay. Went to open it the next morning and it was stuck again. Put a call into Buick, of which their response was since it is not a recall or in warranty, we can't really help, but you should take it and have a diagnostic done on the door. So, I asked them for the parts to open/lock doors on the car and I get an email back to specify what parts I am referring to so that they can narrow down the search and I could call a dealer to inquire about part numbers......really!!!
Remote door locks stopped working around 35000 miles and dealer was no help. Would charge around 250.00 per door to fix. No way since this is an on going issue with these cars. Should me fixed at no charge.
