Hello, I have a 2002 G500 purchased new. I have had all of the window regulators replaced 2-3 times. It amazes me that Mercedes can't seem to develop a mechanism that lasts, like Toyota, Honda, etc. Many of mine were replaced under the 100k warranty. After the warranty expired, it gets expensive. I have found prices at to be the lowest , so far. at approx. $350 per window. I am lucky to have a friend who can replace it for me. Takes him approx. 1 hour to remove and install new mechanism.
I have also been told by a dealers parts dept ( have not been able to verify), that the parts for the G500 are same as those for M class. if this is true, the price for each mechanism goes to approx. $55.00. though the photos I have found on line do not match, it may be that I just have to try and purchase an M class mechanism and see how it compares. Part numbers also do not match.
door lock sensor says that the door is unlocked. i have the sensor replaced and it's doing it again. front inside latch iffy since 75,000 miles.
every year i have window regulators problem. And I dont know how how to fix it.I want to know how to have a good regulator. Iv changed it three times.Every body's lying.
this has happened on two separate occassions and required keeping the g wagon for a couple of days each time the dealer was able to fix it.
Replaced the rear passenger window actuator. Now door handle pull is broken rear passenger door and I am hearing a crunching sound coming from the back sunroof window upon opening/closing...errr
rear window stuck in open position.
This has happened twice before, within 5 years of owning the car.
Along with door lock problems.
Doors window regulator failed. 3 in 2 years. One door actuator failed,

All above fixed.

Latest Fuel door will not open. Even the emergency pull does nothing. Probably another piece of cheap plastic holding together a 3 ton truck. What were they thinking.
purchsed new and have replaced every window regulator at least 4 time with the exception of front drivers side..jus once. I was told that if you don't let your windows up and down on a regular basis..they freeze and causes the regulator break down..maybe after all these years that's why my drivers side jus recently stopped's well used:)
2 rear doors regulator fails ,windows slide down..and left door cable broke on door cannot open it. g500benz
