check engine light comes on when gas tank level goes from near to full to about half. Often, removing and replacing the gas cap turns the ce light off.
Vapor lock problem. removed gas cap tapped on it a few times and left the cap off and fuel open for 1.1 hours. Replaced cap closed fuel door. Light was off when I started the car. Problem has not returned.
check engne light on. digoses as faulty fuel tank pressure sensor. fixed by dealer for $550
Check engine light went on with a faint smell of gas coming through the vents when car was running idle. Was told I had "overfilled" the gas tank by the dealer mechanic. I do not "top off"my gas tank, nor did I accidentally overflow the tank.
