OMG, on going gas cap problem and engine light is going on. Way to expensive to pay a company to check the light and make the light go off. Really we need to buy a chip every time at $400. Any cheaper way to get this done??

Please give me ideas.......
Engine light on due to gas cap issue but we have not been able to fix it, switch cap several times, problem continues.
check engine came on and I went to my local O'reilly's and used there machine to diagnosis the problem. The issues was resolves after I took my Tahoe to the dealership to get repaired.
Tahoe does not get driven much as you can see only 41075 miles now check engine light is on and goodyear said it is fuel system not pressurized correctly. ???
I had this problem for over a year. Dealer "fixed" it for two weeks and $700. After being entirely frustrated I put it up on ramps myself and took a look underneath the rear of the car by the gas tank. Sure enough a hose was unplugged, I cleaned the oring in the fitting and snapped it back together. Problem fixed. NO $$$
Check engine light comes on and warning about 'tighten gas cap'. No fix yet. Mechanic suggested buying real GM or ACDelco gas cap
this is the fourth time over the last 6 or so years I have had the light go on. First some sort of cylinder had a pin hole and was replaced, it took a while for mechanic to find the problem. Two more times mechanic just fixed by replacing the gas cap .The fourth time, well I have to bring in and see. Starting to wonder if I need a new mechanic...
"Service engine soon" light-code '440' and 440pd' "evaporative system fault" occurs when tank reaches the half empty point usually. tighten cap erase code and go.
Check engine light came on I have been running 85 gas and yesterday I filled up with 93 about to check and or replace the gas cap
