On June 26, 2017, Audi recalled 24,754 Audi Q3. Volkswagen group of america, inc. (volkswagen) is recalling certain 2016-2017 audi q3 vehicles. if the parking brake is used during emergency braking, the brake lights on the vehicle will not activate. as such, these vehicles fail to comply with federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."

The brake lights on the vehicle will not illuminate when the parking brake is used during emergency braking. This would mean that other vehicles on the road would not be notified of the vehicle stopping, and could result in an accident. 

Recall repairs on your Audi must be performed by a Audi dealership. Audi will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in July, 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Audi dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.

The side marker lights may not illuminate as they should when the parking lights or headlights are turned on. This would result in the vehicle not being properly illuminated in the dark, increasing risk of a crash.
