2011 Kia Sorento 105,000 mi,
I changed the car's battery this morning. The airbag light has never come on before. Immediately after changing the battery, the airbag light has come on and stayed on. Is there some issue with the loss of electric power and the airbag system?

Air bag light stays on. No accidents or any reason for the light to be on. Received code b1389 for drivers side airbag malfunction. Not sure yet if its the track position sensor or the adu or both yet. There is a tsb but no recall. It seems like Kia doesn't recall anything.

airbag light indicator stays on all the time...KIA wake up

The airbag light came on about a month ago. At dealer I was told a sensor needed to be replaced ...

My passenger front seat air bag light is on. I have the code from my auto mechanic's diagnostic test and KIA
wants to charge me $150.00 to have a new diagnostic test.

I don't feel I should have to pay for this as I already had it tested and want KIA to replace or repair it to keep us safe.

Airbag light remains on.

2003 Kia Sorento 120,000 mi,
This is the third time its HAPPENED!!! Every time my battery needs replacing ,the airbag internal battery depletes and makes the air bag light come on ! I can't even work on my car anymore without fear of this same thing happening again and again. There needs to be a recall notice for this problem! I have spent the last week doing research on how to fix it and have come across thousands of people with the same complaint. My battery started to go dead ,or had work done to my car , which means they had to disconnect the battery... Same thing over and over again!!

My airbag light came on at 77500 miles on my 2011 Kia. Dealership wants $120.00 just for diagnostic testing. Kia needs to step up and take care of there customers!!

Air bag light came on

2011 Kia Sorento 125,000 mi,
Light came on for no apparent reason. Bag has never deployed. Car has not been in collision.

I have the same problem. Quite frankly, these cars are no good. Too many problems. The government should have a recall on these KIA Sorentos

2003 Kia Sorento 100,000 mi,
The airbag Indicator has been on for several months now. My husband called the Kia dealer and they said it'll be $100 + to diagnose the issue and if it's what he presumes the problem to be it'll be around $500 to fix. I haven't been using my Sorento because I feel it's too dangerous to take a risk on one of the airbags deploying on it's own while I'm driving or not deploying if I get into an accident.

Light is on all the time. Took to dealer and they ran diagnostic. Said passenger seat sensor was bad and would cost $1876 to replace. Wtf? No accidents ever. Come on kia!!!

Passenger airbag light stays on, Kia states that model is not part of the recall and it would cost $2200.00 to repair. Feel it should be part of the recall

Air bag on. Kia told me $1,200 don't have that kind of money. Bought it used at 46,000 miles had it for 2 years. I think with everyone have the same issue this definitely sounds a little suspect. I think this is a recall issue!!!! Not happy with Kia.

I had the same issue, but Kia said it was the sensor in the seat. They replaced the entire seat under warranty. Problem is fixed.

air bag light on when wife sit on seat , have been waitin almost 3 months for dealer to get instructions from home office thinking about giving a letter dated when I reported problem to my lawyer, dealer said good luck collecting if an accident did happen., I guess they thought I would forget it

Air bag light suddenly came on. Vehicle never in accident. They hooked up diagnostics and got code about resistance. They removed air bag, cleaned wires and connectors and re-installed. Light went off momentarily, then came back on. They had to re-install a whole new driver side air bag and clock spring to make air bag functional again...When I question how an un-used, un-touched air bag just goes bag service manager shrugs and tells me it just happens..Over $1300 to repair. Kia refuses to acknowledge this as a safety issues and because I bought the vehicle pre-owned they don't want to deal with me. Although, even if I didn't buy it used I have a feeling they would have found another reason to give me to try and get me off their back. Don't worry, it's not over Kia. I will re-coupe those costs, and I'll never drive one of your death traps again.

airbag light on. Came on around 68000 miles, reset and back on a few thousand miles later. Diagnosed (over $100 cost) and determined passenger seat mat was faulty. Cost to fix over $2000 (could not afford) Still on a year later (now 99000 miles) and cossing fingers can make 2 more years with no accident until paid off.

Outrageous cost to replace a SAFETY feature. One reason we bought the KIA was for its safety rating and recent remarks of improved quality...definitely NOT the case. Contacted KIA, they worked with dealer we purchased from as up to dealer to decide if would cover or assist in any way. KIA of Rochester, MN was where it was purchased and was told they would NOT help at all with the repairs and KIA corporation does NOT assist in any way. Would not stand by their vehicle at all.

Worst car purchase I have ever made. DO NOT BUY A KIA, if something goes wrong that puts you and your family's safety in jeapordy, they will NOT do anything to help, but WILL TAKE your money...$1800 for a single sensor mat part! Completely outrageous. While my family is worth it, with an initial price of over 20000 for a year old vehicle, just can not afford it. This doesn't even include the 2 rear main seals replaced so far and other fixes.

ABS light came on after replacing battery and will not go off. Dealership is stating it will be $500 to replace/repair and airbags will not deploy until it is fixed.
